January 31, 2011, Surrey, British Columbia – The City of Surrey Mayor, Dianne Watts, visits Powertech to learn more about the organization’s expertise, business areas, and various technology partnerships here in Surrey, and around the world. The Mayor’s tour was in advance of her City of Surrey Mission to India which began on February 10th 2011.

Powertech is one of the key local businesses to join the Mayor in India. Andrew Klimek, Director, Smart Utility will be representing Powertech. Andrew Klimek explains, “the visit to India provides us with an opportunity to export Powertech’s know-how, expert services, and technologies in power utility and clean energy.”

The City of Surrey Mission to India is a first for Surrey, and is designed to encourage business partnerships between local and Indian companies to support job creation in Surrey, B.C. The Mayor and her Council, along with 40 Surrey-based companies, have been invited to participate in this relationship building initiative.
