Ms. Holly Walia is an Accounts Payable Administrator for the Finance department at Powertech Labs. In this role, Holly is responsible for processing both cash and credit card expense claims, processing invoices, as well as cheque runs. She oversees the reconciliation of vendor statements, and is involved with the communication with staff and vendors for matters related to finance.
Dr. Ben Wang is a Chemical Technician for Applied Chemistry in the Substations sector at Powertech. In this role, Ben is responsible for operations in the asbestos lab and overseeing the daily run of analysis. This includes operating microscopes to analyze asbestos samples, communicating with subcontract labs for polarized light microscopic and transmission electron microscopic analysis, as well as reviewing analytical data and preparing reports for clients. Additionally, Ben maintains and repairs laboratory instrumentation and performs method validation and verification procedures to meet ISO 9001 and 17025 guidelines, including proficiency testing, and internal and external quality audits.
Ms. Jianshan Wang is an experienced Chemical Technician in the Chemistry Lab in Powertech’s Substations Department. She conducts a variety of chemical analyses on insulating fluids, oils and greases, and provides training to other technicians and technologists within the department and across the company. Ms. Wang also provides technical support, advice and assistance to scientists, project leaders and personnel from other business units.
Dr. Lei Wang is the Director of the Power Systems group. He currently leads a technical team at Powertech for the development and commercialization of software tools, including the power system analysis software package DSATools™, which is used by engineers and researchers in more than 30 countries on six continents. The on-line dynamic security assessment technology developed by his team has been licensed to more than 40 utilities worldwide, including the operators of some of the largest grids in the world.
Dr. Xianrong Wang is a Specialist Engineer with Powertech’s Software Technology team. His interests are in power system stability and control, as well as database application. He has extensive experience in the development of power system equivalence models and has expert knowledge of equipment models, simulation techniques, algorithms, and databases.
A Project Engineer in Powertech’s Advanced Transportation - Testing Department, Mr. Evan Waugh is responsible for high pressure hydrogen system testing to international standards for compressed hydrogen components and storage tanks used in vehicles, transportation, and fueling station applications.
Mr. Ian Wylie is the Manager for Applied Chemistry within the Substations sector at Powertech Labs. His past and current research activities include handling, reclamation and recycling of SF6 for electrical utilities, development of diagnostic techniques for SF6 filled electrical equipment, and imaging of SF6 gas leaks.
