POWERTECH SUPPORTS THE LAUNCH OF SHELL’S FOURTH HYDROGEN STATION

On Tuesday, July 31st, 2012, Shell and the California Air Resources Board officially opened their fourth Shell Hydrogen Station.

The Manager of Hydrogen Infrastructure, was pleased to represent Powertech at the opening. They explain, “This station will contribute to the existing network of stations in California to provide greater flexibility and convenience to hydrogen fuel-cell users in support of the automakers’ efforts to advance the technology.”

As the prime contractor for this project, Powertech provided all of the fuelling equipment, including the fuelling dispensers, precooler, compressors, and hydrogen storage.

The station will be used by Toyota, Honda, GM, Daimler, Hyundai and other auto manufacturers to support their fleets of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

This Shell Hydrogen Station is part of a demonstration project, and represents a significant portion of the research development in hydrogen fueling stations taking place at Shell.
