The B.C. Government Announces Funding for $17 Million to Support Clean Energy Vehicle Initiatives

Energy and Mines, Minister Rich Coleman and Environment Minister Terry Lake announce the Canada Starts Here: The BC Jobs Plan at the Municipal Hall in Surrey.

 Mines, Rich Coleman, joined the City of Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts to announce funding for $17 million to support clean energy vehicle initiatives through their Canada Starts Here: The BC Jobs Plan.

For this event, BC Hydro, the City of Surrey, and Powertech attended the media announcement to give their support, and demonstrate the variety of clean energy vehicles now available in British Columbia.

Kathy Nguyen, Acting President and CEO at Powertech believes the funding presents an opportunity to showcase British Columbia as a leader in clean energy solutions. “BC has a lot to offer in the green-tech arena,” said Kathy Nguyen.  “For Powertech, we look forward to partnering with commercial businesses and municipalities that seek clean transportation engineering expertise to deploy electric vehicles and hydrogen fuelling infrastructure.”
