Flisr Demo

1. 0:00:00 to 0:00:10 The right widows is the Distribution Management System Dynamic Mimic display, the current tab shows the Geographic View of the distribution network.
2. 0:00:10 to 0:00:31 If we zoom in , it may show the detailed information of the distribution network, including feeder energize status, switch status and distribution toplogy connectivity with the geographic location information.
3. 0:00:31 to 0:00:35 The "FLISR Test" tab is the view of the distribution network of the Powertech SUTC Pole Yard.
4. 0:00:35 to 0:00:37 The Pole yard has two feeders, the east feeder is connected to the upstream by recloser: "ITCR-100" which is closed now.
5. 0:00:37 to 0:00:40 The west feeder is connected to the upstream by reclose: "RC-200", which is also closed.
6. 0:00:40 to 0:00:42 These 2 feeders are connected by a normally open tie switch "RC-103".
7. 0:00:42 to 0:00:45 The left window is the live camera view of the Powertech SUTC Pole Yard.
8. 0:00:45 to 0:00:48 In the pole yard we have red light installed between each of the reclosers, if the red light is on, then it means that section is energized. Also we may notice that yellow flashing lights of the tie switch "RC-103" which means this normally opened switch are in the opened status
9. 0:00:48 to 0:00:57 We may see that, all the lights are on now, which means all the sections are energized.
10. 0:01:00 to 0:01:07 The recloser RC-101 is closed, RC 102 is closed, the tie switch RC-103 is normally open.
11. 0:01:07 to 0:01:15 Now, we are going to simulate a fault between RC-101 and RC-102
12. 0:01:15 to 0:01:15 We are going to issue the fault simulation command to simulate a fault trip of RC-101. and FLISR application will be triggered and it will take actions immediately.
13. 0:01:21 to 0:01:22 Now , execute the Fault Simulation
14. 0:01:22 to 0:01:32 We may see that 2 lights are off in the live camera view, also we may see the yellow flashing lights of RC-101 which means this recloser is tripped.
15. 0:01:32 to 0:01:36 We may see that the section between RC-101 and RC-103 are turned from "green, energized status" to "blue, de-energized status".
16. 0:01:36 to 0:01:38 The outage event is created, the current status of the outage is "Active - Restoring".
17. 0:01:38 to 0:01:40 The RC-103, tie reclose is changing status now.
18. 0:01:40 to 0:01:43 Now, it is closed.
19. 0:01:43 to 0:01:48 We may see that, the red lights are on, which means the section between RC-102 and RC-103 is energized.
20. 0:01:48 to 0:01:50 As the result of FLSIR application, the service to that section is restored, the section are turned back to "green, energized status".
21. 0:01:50 to 0:01:56 And the fault is isolated to the section between RC-101 and RC-102.
22. 0:01:56 to 0:02:04 Now, we are going to have a review of the FLISR operation.
23. 0:02:04 to 0:02:08 The FLISR Function status shows that the Fault Location, Element Isolation, and supply restoration have been completed.
24. 0:02:08 to 0:02:12 From the drop down list, we can review each application's result.
25. 0:02:12 to 0:02:18 For the Fault Location result;
26. 0:02:18 to 0:02:25 We may see that , the possible fault locations are marked by percentage in the feeder.
27. 0:02:25 to 0:02:32 For the Element Isolation result;
28. 0:02:32 to 0:02:38 We may see that , the switching order are marked in sequence number,
29. 0:02:38 to 0:02:41 And, the elements that need to be isolated are marked in blue with yellow dots.
30. 0:02:41 to 0:02:50 For the Supply Restoration;
31. 0:02:50 to 0:02:53 We may see that , the switching order are marked in sequence number,
32. 0:02:53 to 0:02:56 And, the elements that could be restored power are marked in blue.
33. 0:02:56 to 0:03:00 The alternative source feeder is marked in green.
34. 0:03:00 to 0:03:05 So. Conclusion, After the FLISR took action, the tie switch RC-103 was closed. Service to the section between RC-102 and RC-103 is restored.
35. 0:03:05 to 0:03:12 And the fault area in the section between RC-101 and RC-102 is isolated.
